Saab was orginally founded in Sweden in 1945. In 1990 General Motors took 50% ownership and they had complete ownership by the year 2000. Between 1990 and 2010 there were a handful of models that were sold in the USA.
In 2010, General Motors had to reorganize due to the recession that was related to the housing crash between 2008-2010. They sold Saab to Skyker, which marked the end of Saab’s market in the US.
