Pontiac is a discontinued subsidiary of General Motors. It was originally a companion make for Oakland, but grew in popularity and replaced it’s parent brand by the early 1930s. Beyond the 1960s Pontiac was marketed as the performance brand subsidiary of General Motors. It was more expensive and slightly-higher class than Chevy but not as much as Oldsmobile, Buick or Cadillac.

Due to the economic recession related to the housing crash between 2008-2010 General Motors had to reorganize to stay in business. Pontiac was one of the subsidiaries that was discontinued in 2010.

Since Pontiac has been around since before the 1930s we clearly did not include every model from throughout history on this list.
