Daewoo was originally a Korean auto manufacturer that only sold models overseas. Daewoo models were available in the United States between 1997 and 2002. In 2001 Daewoo was acquired by General Motors. Within a year all models were withdrawn from the US and once again the company only sold models overseas. In Korea the brand was changed to GM Korea in 2011.
