Buick is a subsidiary of General Motors and actually pre-dates GM since they were founded first but then later acquired. The founder of GM actually worked for Buick. Buick was one of the first auto manufacturers in America. Their main market is China, although they also sell vehicles in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Buick dealerships are often co-branded with GMC, i.e. GMC-Buick or Buick-GMC. Since GMC focuses on trucks and SUVs, this allows the dealerships to sell a wider range of vehicles including cars, crossovers, SUVs and trucks.
Buick is an “in between” brand offering more comfort and luxury than Chevrolet but not as luxurious as Cadillac.
