Chrysler is one of the “Big Three” traditionally-American auto makers. The other two are Ford and General Motors. Chrysler was founded in 1925 by Walter Chrysler. After working for Buick (a GM subsidiary), he decided to use the same strategy of brand diversification. He acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers. In 1928 he created the Plymouth and DeSoto brands. Plymouth was a well-known subsidiary that became defunct in 2001.

Chrysler started expanding worldwide in the 1960s. They had various sales and acquisitions of foreign automotive brands. They had a long-standing working relationship with Mitsubishi.

Due the economic recession that was related to the housing crash in 2008-2010, Chrysler and all it’s subsidiaries was sold to Fiat, a German automotive company. The parent company is now called Fiat Chrysler and their current subsidiaries include Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM or RAM Trucks. A defunct division is Eagle, which was co-branded with Jeep until 1998.

Discontinued Makes & Models

Crawford’s Auto Repair has technicians that are both seasoned and up-to-date. We can therefore service makes and models that are currently in production as well as those that are discontinued.

Makes and models that are no longer in production can still be serviced since either Chrysler still provides parts or there are aftermarket parts available.

Since Chrysler has a century-long history it’s not really practical to list every model they ever created. Also Crawford’s generally only services vehicles that are still road-worthy. The following list consists of makes and models that are generally still on the road in the USA with a decent aftermarket. If you have a make and model that is not listed here then give us a call at 480-201-0740 to see if we can service it.

Chrysler Hybrid Repair

Chrysler has had two hybrid models, the current Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and the Dodge Durango in 2009. Hybrid vehicles closely resemble regular gasoline vehicles. Chrysler Diesel Service (Dodge Cummins Repair)

The Dodge Cummins family of diesel engines is one of the main competitors to Ford’s Power Stroke engines and Chevy Duramax diesel engines. Diesels are similar to regular gasoline engines with all the same vehicle systems. The major differences are: the internal combustion occurs from pressure instead of a spark, the fuel is heavier, and the exhaust has additional parts to reduce emissions.  Since diesel engines are usually more powerful they are often found in trucks and other vehicles made for heavy duty.

The owner of Crawford’s Auto Repair is a senior master technician that has extensive experience with diesel engines after working for a dealership. All diesel engines can be serviced at Crawford’s Auto Repair.
